Roby Franklin Floyd has Passed

Roby Franklin Floyd who died yesterday at the Hinkle House in Davidson County, NC Mr. Floyd, 88, from Lexington was born January 15, 1927 the son of the late Wiley Franklin & Caroline Parks Floyd. Funeral service will be held 4:00 PM Thursday October 29, 2015 in the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Keith Heitman officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:30 until 3:30 prior to the service. Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margie Heitman Floyd on February 28, 1995; sisters, Fallie Haltom and Ruth Surratt; brothers, Harlan, James, Foy, Arnold (Bob), and Ray Floyd. Surviving are his daughters, Paulette F. Chilton (Barry) and Lori F. Whitfield (William) all of Lexington; 5 grandchildren, Pennie Kennedy Wilson (Richard), Travis McCoy (Heather), Lezley Humphrey (Heath), Dustin Whitfield (Jennifer) and Chayce Langston (Kassi); 8 great-grandchildren; brother, Paul Floyd of Lexington; sister-in-laws, Shirley Rhodes, Myrtle Everhart and Vernell Sutherland; brother-in-law, Rodney Heitman (Jeanette); numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Floyd has a direct line to Margaret Briles Kindley.

Kathleen Briles Sandlin

Kathleen Briles Sandlin passed away on September 15, 2015. Family visitation Tuesday afternoon 4-6pm at the: ORA L. WOOSTER FUNERAL HOME, 51 Park Blvd., Clementon, NJ 08021. A Memorial Service will begin at 6pm. Born in 1945 in Philadelphia, PA to James and Kathleen Briles. Married in 1962, survived by her 4 sons David, Daniel, Douglas and Dennis; and her 5 granddaughters Taylor, Emily, Sarah, Maya and Sarah. She is also survived by her brother James Briles, Jr. and her sister Frances Bergstrom, both of whom reside in Berlin; and by the best Godmother ever, her Aunt Rosie Brannigan.

Mary Elizabeth Floyd Watkins

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Floyd Watkins, 75, passed away Saturday, October 3, 2015 at W.F. Baptist Medical Center. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Born in Randolph County, August 7, 1939, a daughter of Robert and Mattie Varner Floyd, preceded in death by her husband of forty five years, Andrew Watkins, and a son, Robert Watkins. Surviving are two daughters, Mary Watkins Davis and husband Robert and Karen Lynn Watkins; a son, John Scott Watkins; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and special friends, Cindy, Bill and Judy. Great grandmother is Fatima Briles Floyd
