Nathan Gene Rush Dies in Greensboro

RANDLEMAN — Nathan Gene Rush, age 26, of Randleman died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2014, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 29, 2014, at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 S. Main St., Randleman, N.C. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the chapel, with Pastor Jeff Harmon officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park, AsheboroBorn January 17, 1988 in Randolph County the son of Ruben & Barbara Lunsford Briles who survive. Preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, John Rush; maternal grandparents, Edward and Lula Lunsford. He is survived by his parents, Ruben and Barbara Rush; brother, Ruben Rush Jr. of High Point; paternal grandmother Levena Norris and her husband Johnny.

John C. Briles Passes

MISSOURI-John C. Briles, born in 1935 and son of the late Earnest Woodson & Belva Gilbert Briles, passed away September 25, 2014. Mr. Briles is lying in state at Kutis Funeral Home on Monday, September 29, 2014. Memorial Service to follow. Burial will be private. Surviving is his wife, Carol Ann Winistoerfer Briles; his children Chris, Ray & Sarah Briles and their spouses.

The Rev. Robert Houston Briles Dies

WEATHERFORD, TEXAS- The Rev. Robert Houston Briles Sr., 85, passed away Saturday morning, Sept. 6, 2014. Funeral: 10 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church of Weatherford. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Greenwood. Pallbearers: Everett Goar, Joe Lee, Leo Neely, Tom Porter, Robert Duvall and Danny Bruce. The Rev. Briles was born June 20, 1929, and was raised in Milford. The Rev. Briles was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Gregg Briles; son, Robert H. Briles Jr.; parents, James Otis and Bertha Briles; brother, James Otis Briles Jr.; sister, Nina and her husband, Boyd Barnard; and sister, Margaret and her husband, Bill Schroeder. Survivors: He was a loving father to Susan Briles, Mary Katherine "Cassie" Gresham and husband, Joe; and grandfather to Sara Elizabeth Dixon and husband, Jonathan; and his future great-grandchild due in January 2015; and niece, Linda Bradford.

Lois Marie Small Jordan, age 86, of Greensboro, died Friday, September 5, 2014 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro. Family will receive friends Monday, September 8, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home in Asheboro, NC. Funeral will be Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Pierce's Chapel Primitive Baptist Church, Ross Wood Rd., Trinity with Elder Ted Morton and Elder Cleo Robertson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Born June 27, 1928 the daughter of Henry Oscar and Chloe J. Brookshire Small. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Ray L. Jordan; son-in-law: Kenneth Kellam; 4 brothers and 7 sisters. Survived by two daughters: Gail Kellam of Greensboro, Golda (James) Patterson of Greensboro; two sons: Michael D. Jordan of Jamestown and Mark Jordan of Pleasant Garden; 6 grandsons: Jason (Crystal) Patterson of Greensboro, Jarod (Jennifer) Kellam of Pleasant Garden, Jeremy (Pam) of Winston-Salem, Philip Kellam of Greensboro, Matthew Jordan of Oxford and Andrew Jordan of Greensboro; 4 great grandchildren: Nathan and Owen Kellam of Pleasant Garden, Avery and Emery Patterson of Winston-Salem; many nieces and nephews.
